Securities Paralegal

Overview

A nationally recognized firm is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join its Securities Litigation team in New York. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and litigation staff on sophisticated, high-profile matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong research, organizational, and proofreading skills, along with experience supporting complex litigation matters from inception through trial preparation. This role is well suited for a motivated litigation paralegal seeking hands-on involvement in impactful cases within a highly respected litigation practice.

This is a hybrid position based in New York City with a schedule that typically includes three in-office days per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and factual research using platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, Bloomberg Law, and other legal research tools
• Proofread, fact-check, cite-check, and Bluebook legal briefs, complaints, motions, and related filings
• Prepare, finalize, and electronically file legal documents in federal and state courts
• Assist with retrieval and organization of court rules, regulations, and legal reference materials
• Organize, maintain, and track case files, exhibits, and litigation databases
• Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings
• Coordinate scheduling and logistics with attorneys, outside counsel, vendors, and other parties
• Prepare exhibits, binders, and supporting materials for litigation proceedings
• Track deadlines and assist with overall case management responsibilities
• Maintain accurate time entries and administrative records as required
• Provide litigation and administrative support in a deadline-driven environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2-5 years of litigation paralegal experience within a law firm environment
• Securities litigation and/or class action experience preferred
• Experience with electronic filing in federal district courts
• Strong cite-checking, fact-checking, and Bluebooking skills
• Proficiency with legal research tools including Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, Bloomberg Law, and related systems
• Excellent proofreading, grammar, organizational, and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and legal technology platforms
• Willingness to work overtime and maintain flexibility with work schedules when business needs require
