About the Position

General unit specifics include a 16-bed capacity with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, and occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity levels. Unit staffing includes RNs only, with no HUC or PCT support available. Essential equipment includes Ventilators, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pump, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and Hyperthermia units. The documentation system used is Cerner. Schedulers require 36 hours per week, with alternating weekends and 12-hour shifts. Travelers may be required to float to all areas of the unit. ICU experience is mandatory for applicants. Desired advanced skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT expertise. Procedures performed within the unit include Cardioversion, Central line insertion, EGD, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis. Attention to the dress code is required, with specific colors for scrubs being mandatory. No pullovers or hoodies are allowed, and green scrubs may only be worn if soiled during work.
