Job Description:

Ennoble Care is looking for an organized, full-time, Hospice Medical Records Clerk to join our office team in Hackettstown, NJ!

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Medical Records department.
  • Maintain medical records in locked cabinets to assure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Set up new patient clinical records.
  • File documentation in patient charts in chronological order in appropriate locations.
  • Monitor check-in and check-out of patient charts by office and field staff.
  • Assist staff in locating charts and documentation.
  • Log in and out physician orders and mail orders to the appropriate physicians.
  • Prepare paperwork for IDG meetings.
  • Send attending physicians IDG updates following IDG meetings.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure organization and timely retrieval of documentation.
  • Break down discharged patients' records.
  • Maintain and store all discharged patient charts.
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Job Conditions

  • It is primarily a desk job which essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping and walking, as well as telephone communication.
  • Travel may be required, by car or airplane, to local, out-of-town or state seminars, conferences or meetings.
  • It requires minimal lifting of office records and printouts.

Equipment Operation

  • The job requires the ability to utilize a PC, calculator, multi-line telephone, and other related office equipment.

Company Information

  • Has access to all patient medical records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a record manager preferred.
  • Should be a skilled organizer who is able to manage office files, logbooks and staff schedules.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (particularly savvy with Excel)
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must possess light secretarial skills and have polite telephone manners.
