Job Description
Special Education Teacher – One-on-One Child Development
Use Your Special Education Experience in a More Meaningful, Individualized Setting.
Bright Pathways is seeking experienced Special Education Teachers, Autism Classroom Teachers, Life Skills Teachers, Resource Teachers, Inclusion Teachers, Behavior Interventionists, and Special Education Paraprofessionals to join our growing team.
If you enjoy helping children who learn differently, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs, and celebrating meaningful progress, this role offers the opportunity to do even more of what you love.
Instead of supporting an entire classroom, you'll work one-on-one with a child, building a strong relationship while helping them develop the communication, social, emotional, behavioral, and daily living skills they need to become more independent and successful in everyday life.
What You'll Be Doing:You'll provide individualized support to one child at a time in their home, school, daycare, or community.
Every child has different strengths, challenges, and goals, so every session looks a little different.
Depending on the child you're supporting, you may:
Help a child communicate their wants and needs more effectively.
Teach social skills through games, play, and everyday interactions.
Help children develop friendships, take turns, share, and participate successfully with others.
Support emotional regulation and teach strategies for handling frustration, disappointment, or changes in routine.
Teach independence with everyday activities such as getting dressed, brushing teeth, completing homework, or following daily routines.
Practice community skills such as ordering food, grocery shopping, playground interactions, or participating in recreational activities.
Create engaging learning opportunities through play, crafts, books, outdoor activities, and other child-centered experiences.
Celebrate meaningful milestones—whether it's saying a new word, making a new friend, or completing a task independently for the first time.
Every activity has a purpose. You'll receive individualized goals for each child and ongoing guidance from experienced supervisors while using your own creativity and teaching skills to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
Why Special Education Professionals Thrive Here:The skills you've already developed are exactly what we're looking for.
You know how to individualize instruction.
You understand that every child learns differently.
You know how to stay patient during challenging moments, recognize progress others might miss, and build trusting relationships with children and families.
That's why we're intentionally building our team around professionals with special education backgrounds.
Why Bright Pathways?Bright Pathways is a human-first organization.
We believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional relationships—not only with the children and families we serve, but also with the people who work alongside us every day.
We're intentional about keeping our company personal.
Our leadership team knows our employees, understands their strengths, and works hard to thoughtfully match each team member with the right child and family. We believe everyone has a better experience when the relationship is the right fit.
You'll never feel like you're simply assigned a case and left on your own. Our supervisors and operations team are accessible, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed.
As we continue to grow, we're committed to maintaining a culture where people feel supported, appreciated, and proud of the work they do.

Bright Pathways provides individualized developmental services to children and families throughout Texas.
Our goal is simple: help children build the skills they need to communicate, develop relationships, become more independent, and participate more fully in everyday life.
Just as importantly, we're building the kind of company we'd want to work for ourselves—one where people know each other, support one another, celebrate successes together, and never lose sight of the reason we do this work.
