Shield HealthCare is looking for a Purchasing Agent in our Valencia, CA office to coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services for the organization

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews requisitions
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Prepares purchase orders
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
• Expedites delivery of goods to users
• Creates and distributes manufacturer backorder report
• Inventory adjustments and investigation/resolution of discrepancies
• Processing of backorders for shipment upon receipt
• Analysis and maintenance of reorder parameters
• Expediting and backorder prevention reports
• Review and resolution of slow turning inventory
• Regularly scheduled replenishments
• Conduct periodic location verification
• Review/evaluate/maintain automated inventory reorder parameters
• Miscellaneous projects as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years purchasing experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical skills
• Multi-task ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry
• Inventory management experience is preferred
• Ability to lift 25 lbs

The posted range for this position is $20-27/hour which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay withing the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
