Registered Nurse Med-Surg Overflow

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for the Med-Surg Overflow unit. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult medical-surgical patients who are placed in overflow beds due to increased census or acuity. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and an interdisciplinary care team. The Registered Nurse Med-Surg Overflow will prioritize patient safety, adhere to clinical protocols and evidence-based practices, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. You will coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge care, and serve as a strong advocate for patients and their families. This position requires the ability to manage a dynamic, fast-paced environment, flex between varying patient needs and acuity levels, and respond efficiently to changes in condition or unit census.
