The courses, learning activities, and resources provided in our training program are designed to give you foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences necessary to prepare for certification as a pharmacy technician. Minimum Responsibilities: In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in their operations. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Customer Experience: Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits. Develop strong relationships with valuable customers. Operations: Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting in workflow management. Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality policies. Handle sales and cash register operations, assist in inventory management, and support clinical services as required. Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment and foster respectful coworker relationships. Training & Personal Development: Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program or state certification requirements. Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
