About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - Cardiac telemetry experience - IV start and telemetry Description: Cross posting and requested time off after booking is not allowed, and it cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional requested time off on the unit could possibly result in a cancellation. Minimum of 2 years of experience is required, ideally with step-down experience. First-time travelers are accepted, but candidates should be prepared for a high-acuity environment. The unit will have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, with an average daily census of 23. 8 weekend shifts are required. This position will require floating within the facility as necessary. Quality nurses are needed who can manage the same ratios as other units. No charge nurses are available on the unit, so teamwork is essential. Patients may present with various cardiac diagnoses including arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, diabetes, and heart failure. Special procedures in this unit involve managing cardiac drips without titration for blood pressure. Interdisciplinary support is provided from various teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must be able to handle high patient acuity and high patient-to-nurse ratios.
