About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** September 16, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; day and night shifts available; 1:4 patient ratio (stretch to 1:5)**Highlights:** - Progressive care cardiac stepdown unit with 40 beds specializing in CHF, MI, arrhythmia, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-procedural care- Experience with advanced cardiac care including pacemakers, ICDs, ablations, and valvular disease management- Utilize Cerner EMR system and work with specialized cardiac equipment including Zoll monitors and Baxter pumps- Strong team environment with dedicated charge nurses, bedside RNs, patient care technicians, and unit support staff- Opportunity to work with titratable cardiac IV medications and perform bedside cardioversions- Scrub attire: all white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants**Requirements:** - Active RN license in North Carolina or multistate compact license- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required- Progressive care or stepdown experience required- Telemetry monitoring experience required- Demonstrated competency with cardiac IV drip medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drips, and heparin- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred- Relief charge experience a plus- Ability to float to medical-surgical units, other stepdown units, and emergency holding areas as needed**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This progressive cardiac care position offers the chance to work with a diverse patient population requiring specialized cardiovascular nursing expertise in a collaborative team setting.
