RN - Oncology Progressive Care Unit (Nights)

Shift: Third Shift (United States of America)– Registered Nurse– Oncology Progressive Care Unit (Nights)– RN Staff Nurse, Full Time, Nights. Position Highlights Werner Cancer Hospital Progressive Care Unit (W-PCU) is a 24‑bed unit within the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, serving adult progressive surgical, oncology, palliative care and progressive acute care patients receiving chemotherapy. You will provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other healthcare providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients in an environment that may be long term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural driven. Responsibilities Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. Work within the environment of long term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural‑driven care, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma. Effective communication skills. Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility. Current RN license in the state of Nebraska or a current compact state license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (department dependent). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer date (department dependent). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) within one year of hire or transfer date (department dependent). Preferred Qualifications Direct patient care experience. Prior experience in cardiology, cardiac drip management, critical care, emergency department, medical‑surgical, obstetrics, cardiovascular rehabilitation, telemetry, oncology, neonatal intensive care, pediatric acute care, solid organ transplant, cath lab, EP lab, quality assurance in health care, perioperative and special procedures. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Courses such as STABLE, smoking cessation counseling, basic critical care, or other specialty training courses. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and email applications. Proficiency with departmental equipment and systems such as patient care equipment, telecommunication systems, information systems, pneumatic tube system, general patient care supplies, and transport equipment.
