Greenville, OH | Full-Time | Exempt Jones & Company CPAs is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Tax Services team in Greenville, Ohio. What You'll Do: In this role, you'll support the delivery of high-quality tax and accounting services while building technical expertise and strong client relationships. * Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and non-profit entities * Assist with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation * Support audit, review, and compilation engagements as assigned * Research tax regulations and accounting guidance to support compliance and planning * Identify potential tax savings opportunities and compliance risks for supervisor review * Communicate with clients to gather information and respond to routine inquiries * Maintain accurate workpapers and ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and firm policies * Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards * Contribute to process improvements and efficient workflows What We're Looking For: * CPA license or actively pursuing CPA (preferred) * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field * 2-4 years of public accounting experience or relevant tax/accounting experience * Working knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and accounting principles * Experience with tax and accounting software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, BNA, or similar platforms * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools * Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and professionalism Nice to Have: * Experience in a public accounting firm environment * Exposure to audit and assurance engagements * Experience working directly with small business clients * Progress toward CPA licensure Compensation & Benefits: Compensation: $55,000 - $80,000 annually, based on experience level and relevant public accounting background. Entry-level candidates or recent graduates may start closer to $55,000, while candidates with a few years of experience may fall toward the upper end of the range.
