Commercial Lines Account Manager - Construction Specialist

Position Summary

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional service to the Agency’s commercial accounts. This involves the service of existing accounts as well as the onboarding of new accounts. In this role, the Account Manager will take ownership of a dedicated book of business focused on construction accounts, developing deep expertise in construction-related coverages and serving as the primary point of contact for contractors, subcontractors, and construction-related clients.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide exceptional service by educating clients, answering questions, resolving issues, and communicating in a timely and professional manner
\n
• Communicating with the client, producers, carriers, and brokers on any changes or adjustments within the account
\n
• Marketing accounts for both new and renewal business to appropriate carriers as needed or requested
\n
• Service accounts by ordering and issuing binders, certificates, endorsements, and other related items while also verifying their accuracy
\n
• Maintains accurate and up to date information in the Agency Management System according to agency standards
\n
• Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for client/account reviews
\n
• Verifies policies for accuracy with rating, coverages, billing, and other information as necessary
\n
• Develops a strong, interactive, and positive relationship with clients as the main point of contact to the agency
\n
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, producers, other account managers, carrier representatives in a clear, concise, and positive attitude
\n
• Manage and service a dedicated book of construction accounts, including general contractors, subcontractors, artisan contractors, and construction-related businesses
\n
• Develop a thorough understanding of construction-specific coverages, including General Liability, Builder’s Risk, Inland Marine, Contractor’s Equipment, Commercial Auto, Umbrella/Excess, and Workers’ Compensation
\n
• Review and process certificates of insurance and additional insured requests, ensuring compliance with contract requirements common in the construction industry
\n
• Stay current on market trends, carrier appetites, and coverage developments specific to the construction industry
\n
• Coordinate with producers on account rounding and coverage gap analysis for construction clients
\n

Qualifications & Skills

\n
• Must have a high attention to detail and be able to perform well with frequent interruptions and distractions
\n
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and others as needed
\n
• Ability to work with numbers including basic calculations
\n
• Ability to work and meet challenging deadlines and expectations
\n
• Prior experience with commercial lines, particularly construction accounts, strongly preferred
\n
• Familiarity with construction industry insurance requirements, contracts, and certificate management a plus
\n
• Experience with an Agency Management System, especially AMS360, preferred
\n
