The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist performs the duties of a Radiologic Technologist on a wide variety of technical procedures in the interventional radiology clinic and general diagnostic imaging. Provides high-quality diagnostic special procedures and interventional studies while providing safe and high-quality care to the pediatric population. Consistently complies with CHOC practices, policies (e.g., attendance, patient safety), and procedures. The IR Technologist abides by the ethical standards set by CHOC. Adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements participates in quality control and process improvement activities and maintains clinical competency and mandatory requirements.

Pay Range: Minimum $43.54 Midpoint $57.70 Maximum $71.84

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience:

• Required: One (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Preferred: One (1) year of Interventional Radiology experience. Or completion of a twelve-month accredited certificate program for Vascular Interventional (VI) Technology.

Education:

• Required: Graduate from an AMA-approved program in Radiology Technology.
• Preferred: Graduate from an AMA-approved Vascular Interventional (VI) Technology.

Training:

• Required: None

Specialized Skills:

• Required: Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and over the telephone. Ability to think critically; work independently; manage multiple assignments; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload, and pay close attention to detail. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Work in collaboration with the technical supervisor and medical director to provide high-quality routine, general diagnostic special procedures, and interventional radiology studies. Responsible for maintenance of quality assurance for radiologic safety, equipment, and the development of imaging acquired during interventional radiology procedures.
• Preferred: Knowledge of procedures and practices with diagnostic interventional radiology exams and procedures.

Licensure:

• Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist -CA (CRT), Certified Radiologic Technologist - CA Fluoroscopy, BLS Certificate, Current ACLS and PALS certificate.
• Preferred: ARRT post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) Technology.

Work Environments - Functional Demand: Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.
