Director of Payroll

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Director of Payroll to join their team for a remote role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $150,000 to $165,000 per year.

• Lead payroll transformation activities to harmonize payroll processes, enhance automation and implement new systems or vendors as necessary.
• Partner with HR departments to ensure open communication and flow of information affecting employees
• Resolve payroll tax matters in a timely manner and provide accounting the break down per cost center/funder
• Responsible for determining the appropriate taxability of all payroll earnings and deductions and ensuring that the payroll system is taxing accordingly
• Ensure proper preparation, accuracy, and timely processing of payroll in compliance with federal and state laws.
• Remain current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations By studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Oversee quarterly and end of year tax filing processes.

• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in accounting, Finance or related filed
• 12+ years of hands-on payroll experience with 5 years as a payroll manager
• CPP would be a big plus.
• In depth experience with Payroll software, third party payroll systems (e.g., ADP), and timekeeping systems

• Experience with multiple states and local tax requirements
• Experience with acquisitions and implementations
• Knowledge of US and Canada payroll requirements
