Summary About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. - Conduct standardized medical orientation briefings to applicants.
- Administer comprehensive medical screenings (audiometry, vision tests, vital signs) to evaluate incoming military applicants.
- Maintain applicants' medical records during the examination process.
- Assisted applicants in accurately completing required physical examination paperwork and medical questionnaires.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples.
- Dispatched clinical specimens to testing laboratories in adherence to safety and handling regulations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. (Before 0600 or after 1800 hours)
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
