Therapist - Occupational Therapy Assistant

$1380.40/week -

Job Summary:

Provides rehabilitative and medically necessary occupational therapy interventions to patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Focuses on enhancing cognitive and physical functioning through evidence-based practices and supportive care strategies.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Support clinical interventions by administering therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
  
  
• 
  Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed.
  
  
• 
  Document all patient interactions, treatment minutes, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers on therapy goals and management strategies.
  
  
• 
  Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and ongoing training sessions to stay current with best practices.
  
  
• 
  Assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies and supervise students under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  
  
• 
  Have at least 1 year of OTA experience, with LTC or Rehab settings preferred.
  
  
• 
  Possess a valid COTA license.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in evidence-based occupational therapy techniques and documentation standards.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication skills with interdisciplinary team members.
  
  
• 
  Comply with NBCOT / AOTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethical standards.
