Join a hospital in Montgomery, AL as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and play a vital role on a team that values your skills while working in a high-volume, tertiary care environment. Assist physicians and cath lab personnel in conducting diagnostic and interventional procedures and operate advanced imaging and hemodynamic equipment to capture crucial cardiac and vascular data.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARRT certified Radiologic Technologist.
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association preferred).
• Interventional Cath Lab experience required. One year of interventional cath lab experience accepted; diagnostic-only experience is not sufficient.
• Experience with STEMI/NSTEMI, LHC/RHC, CHF, Angina, ACS, Afib, IABP/Impella, CTOs, staged/protected PCI, pericardiocentesis, and temporary pacers.
• Familiarity with scrub and pan table techniques, groin site management and monitoring, and use of medrad equipment.
• State-specific licensure when required.
• Ability to complete required facility orientation including classroom and unit orientation shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred.
• Experience with laser lead extraction, Rotablator, FFR, IVUS, Impella, EKOS, pacemaker implants and management.
• Experience with EP, vascular, PE, or structural/hybrid cases such as pacemaker procedures, peripheral and carotid interventions, Inari/EKOS, Watchman, TAVR, and PFO procedures is desirable.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR, Philips XPER hemodynamic system, IntellaSpace PACS, and Omnicell medication dispensing.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0630-1830.
• Weekend rotation required as part of scheduling.
• No floating required.
• Orientation: 24 hours classroom for new or returning travelers absent 1+ year, plus 1–3 shifts on unit depending on comfort.
• High-volume case load: typically 20–25 patients seen per day.

Impacting the Quality of Care for Patients Nationwide

As a traveling cath lab technologist, you provide critical support for high-acuity cardiac and vascular procedures in a Level II trauma hospital with a Level III NICU and a Primary Stroke Center. You will work in a multi-room cath lab environment that supports interventional, structural, EP, and peripheral workflows. Your role contributes to timely care for STEMI/NSTEMI and complex interventional cases and supports coordinated recovery in the cardiovascular recovery (CVR) area.
