Hospice/Palliative Medicine Physician

Join a top academic health system in Brooklyn as an experienced Palliative Care Physician in a small, growing division. This role supports both inpatient consultative services and outpatient oncology patients, offering a mix of clinical care, teaching, program development, and research within a large teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide palliative care consults across a 700-bed teaching hospital and an affiliated 130-bed community hospital.
• Manage complex symptom control, goals-of-care discussions, end-of-life planning, and family counseling.
• Participate in an embedded Supportive Oncology Clinic at the Cancer Center (minimum one day weekly).
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Deliver lectures and participate in educational initiatives throughout the health system.
• Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and growth of palliative care services.
• Opportunities to participate in clinical research and academic projects.
• Faculty appointment available through a local university.

Requirements

• MD or DO.
• Fellowship training in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in primary specialty and Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Active New York medical license and DEA.
• ACLS/BLS certification.
• Prior experience preferred; candidate should be comfortable practicing independently.
• Strong interdisciplinary, communication, and teaching skills.
