1:1 Registered Nurse (RN) – Portland, ME Summer Assignment | 2026 ProCare Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 to support a high school student in Portland, Maine during a summer assignment. Position Dates: July 6 – August 21 Schedule: Monday–Friday Hours: 8:00 AM pick-up from home–3:00 PM drop-off (Fridays at 2:00 PM) 1:1 school-based nursing support (summer program) Student Information High school student with complex medical and support needs Non-verbal and uses a wheelchair for mobility Requires full assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) Requires close supervision throughout the school day for safety Eats soft foods by mouth and requires assistance during meals Requires assistance with toileting, including support from two staff members when needed Benefits from positioning and movement support throughout the day Requires attentive supervision to ensure safety and prevent placing non-food items in the mouth May require emergency response support per established care plan Responsibilities Provide 1:1 skilled nursing care throughout the school day and transportation times Monitor for seizure activity and respond according to care plan Assist with feeding and ensure safe oral intake of soft foods Support positioning and mobility needs in wheelchair Provide total care support for ADLs, including toileting with 2-person assist Maintain constant supervision to ensure student safety Collaborate with school staff, caregivers, and transportation personnel Document care and communicate any medical or behavioral concerns Requirements Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Maine Experience working with medically fragile pediatric or school-based populations preferred Comfort providing total care and 1:1 supervision Experience with seizure protocols strongly preferred Ability to work collaboratively in a school and home-to-school transportation setting Pay $35-45/hr (dependent on experience, caseload and credentials) ProCare Benefits Highly competitive compensation Weekly pay Comprehensive insurance including medical, dental, vision, life, and more Matching 401(k) Flexible spending account #J-18808-Ljbffr
