Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

WACO FAMILY MEDICINE

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Must have a genuine desire to continuously learn and provide high quality patient care
• Seeing ambulatory patients of the Center as scheduled and assigned by Center
• Maintain full privileges for practice of clinical medicine at Family Health Center
• Abide by the ethics of the medical profession and all federal, state and local laws and ordinances applicable to his/her practice
• Participate in committees/work groups as assigned
• May participate in quality improvement projects
• Other duties as assigned

OTHER DUTIES:

• Assist in the Center's provision of health education and health promotion programs including but not limited to such groups as the Center's patients, physicians, staff, and/or community residents
• Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director and/or Center management

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Visual and auditory accuracy
• Indoor setting

• Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions
• Memorize and retain instructions
• Read and interpret detailed specifications
• Able to respond quickly and calmly in medical emergencies

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

Waco is a mid-sized city in Central Texas. It is situated on the I-35 corridor between Dallas and Austin. It boasts major attractions, historic homes, recreational venues, theatrical and musical productions, as well as art exhibitions. Waco is home to Baylor University and Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Market at the Silos.

The city is the birthplace of Dr Pepper, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. REPORTS TO: Chief Medical Officer and Supervising Physician

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner degree program.
• Board eligible or Board certification required.
• Current or pending license to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
• Current BLS certification

SKILLS

• Provision of clinical healthcare services for clients in an ambulatory clinic setting.
• Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred, though not required.
