With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We're searching for a detail-oriented Field Services Technician II to join our team in Reading, PA.In this role, you'll perform regulated environmental sampling, water and wastewater sample collection, environmental monitoring, field inspections, and specialized field operations, including independent execution of environmental sampling programs and operation of automated composite sampling equipment. This position also plays an important role in supporting environmental laboratory operations and requires flexibility to assist with laboratory workflows, sample receiving, sample preparation, and operational support as business needs require.What You'll DoPerform regulated environmental sampling and sample collection, in accordance with approved methods and regulatory requirementsTravel to and from client sites to pick up and deliver samples following assigned routes and schedulesMaintain proper sample custody, integrity, and regulatory holding times during transportDeploy, retrieve, program, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain composite sampling equipmentVerify composite sampler operation and document maintenance, corrective actions, and field activitiesConduct field inspections at water treatment facilities, well sites, distribution systems, and storage locationsPerform required field measurements, observations, and documentationIndependently identify and resolve routine sampling or equipment issues; escalate non-routine concerns as neededComplete chain-of-custody records and required field and electronic documentation accuratelyPerform in-house sample triage, including verification of containers, preservation, labeling, and documentationPrepare, stage, and replenish sample kits, coolers, and field suppliesInteract professionally and courteously with clients during field activitiesPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Vocational training in a related technical field preferredPrevious hands-on experience in field services, regulated sampling, warehouse, or related technical or labor rolesFamiliarity with field sampling techniques and equipment operation is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer applicationsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordWork Schedule & RequirementsFull-time, field-based positionFlexibility to work outside of regularly scheduled hours as operational needs requireAbility to safely operate a company vehicle in varying weather conditions and terrain for extended periods throughout the workdayAbility to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditionsRegular exposure to environmental elements, chemicals, and strong or unpleasant odors, including wastewater and industrial materialsOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
