The position requires the ability to float among various facilities within a designated geographical zone. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in multiple specialties, including general medical-surgery, telemetry, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehabilitation, renal, bariatrics, orthopedics, trauma, and emergency observation. Location This position covers multiple locations within a 60-mile radius of Colorado Springs, CO. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric populations with various medical conditions. Assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans. Administer medications and monitor patient responses. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in patient education and discharge planning. Scheduling and Availability Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week with potential floating within that facility. Option B: Just-In-Time (JIT) assignment, where the facility is assigned 1-2 hours before the shift starts. Travelers are expected to be flexible and may float between units as needed. Shifts are typically 7 pm to 7 am, with 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling period. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing. Experience in neuro nursing is preferred. Current certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Nurse-Patient Ratios The typical nurse-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on patient acuity levels. Additional Information Floating is required across designated locations within the zone. Orientation is mandatory for the first week, and clinicians should be present in-state for this period. The facility has multiple units ranging from general medical-surgical to various specialties.
