IMUA Family Services is looking for qualified, licensed Speech Language Pathologists to practice in a collaborative, supportive environment on the beautiful island of Maui. This position is responsible for the provision of family-centered culturally competent services for children and their families, birth to eight with typical development and developmental delays. The individual uses a primary service provider and coaching approach to instruct families and their children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth needed for child development in their natural environments. This position provides interim and on-going services to families receiving services from IMUA Family Services. The individual compiles the necessary information and data for programming and to create accurate reports and billing for various funding sources. Essential duties and responsibilities also include providing information to other professionals and the community as well as conducting other clerical work and administrative duties. Consider what you want out of life and choose the IMUA way! Responsibilities Use a Primary Service Provider Approach and Coaching when working with families and children. Provide evidence-based practices in early childhood development and service coordination across areas of expertise, assessment and service planning. Establish trusting relationships with families and maintain regular participant contact. Facilitate development, review and evaluation of service plans in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines. Implement and monitor service plans and collaborate with other personnel and service providers while maintaining confidentiality. Document observations and progress clearly and concisely; maintain and organize client files (paper and electronic). Meet with Supervisors to review progress and maintain caseload size appropriate to program needs. Communicate with families and teams to resolve questions and ensure access to interventions and services. Qualifications Time management, attention to detail and organization; outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to juggle multiple tasks; prioritization and deadline management. Clear criminal and child protective background; valid driver’s license and insurance; TB clearance; clean driving record. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in a discipline related to the role (e.g., Speech-Language Pathology) from an accredited institution; required licenses per discipline. Experience with birth to eight population preferred; Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Registered Behavior Technician credentials may be required depending on position. Language, reasoning, and computer skills relevant to the role.
