Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of service department operations, ensuring achievement of performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Drive key performance indicators, including labor sales, effective labor rate, technician productivity, technician proficiency, gross profit, CSI, and customer retention.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain Service Advisors, Technicians, Dispatchers, and support personnel.
• Foster a culture centered on teamwork, accountability, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
• Monitor workflow, appointment scheduling, work-in-process, shop capacity, and technician efficiency to maximize productivity and customer throughput.
• Analyze departmental financial statements, operational reports, and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and process improvements.
• Develop and execute action plans to improve CSI scores, customer loyalty, technician retention, advisor performance, and overall department effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with OEM requirements, warranty policies, safety standards, and dealership operating procedures.
• Manage departmental expenses, staffing levels, and resource allocation to maintain profitability and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with dealership leadership to support overall dealership performance and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience as an Automotive Service Manager, Fixed Operations Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Director, or similar leadership role within an OEM franchise dealership.
• Proven track record of achieving departmental results
• Strong understanding of dealership fixed operations.
• Demonstrated success developing technicians, service advisors, and leadership team members.
• Experience improving customer retention, employee engagement, and service department performance.Working knowledge of dealership management systems, service scheduling, warranty administration, and OEM processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to adequately pass pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• High-volume or multi-franchise dealership leadership experience.
• Strong background in technician recruitment, retention, and workforce development.
• Experience implementing process improvements.
• Consistent record of exceeding OEM performance standards and fixed operations benchmarks.
