Job Description PCI is seeking an experienced Joinery Project Manager for its West Coast Marine operations based in San Francisco, CA. This individual will be responsible for the following duties: Managing and growing our joinery product line with a team of project engineers and estimators. Overseeing the recruitment and training of field and operations team members. Actively participating in the safety culture of the branch. Understanding and following all PCI guidelines related to the corporate safety program. Being accountable for the quality control measures outlined in the QA/QC program for assigned projects. Preparing RFIs, submittals and shop drawings. Understanding how to navigate and coordinate activities to maximize productivity and efficiency. Verifying estimates, ordering materials and pricing change orders. Creating and implementing job schedules, coordinating with field supervisors and foremen, and effectively communicating issues to negotiate the optimal position for our trade in the work sequence. Performing labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance; using this tool to make adjustments as necessary to maximize profits. Assisting in selecting vendors and coordinating materials and equipment. Assisting in the buyout of subcontractors, issuing contracts and proactively sequencing and managing the subcontractor’s work including billings and change orders. Completing and being accountable for job cost control measures through monthly Financial Analysis Worksheets (FAWs) on assigned projects. Supporting the branch through positive customer relations and participation in the Customer Alignment Plan. Salary Range $117,500–$157,000 annual salary plus non‑guaranteed annualized bonus program. Basic Requirements Must have a minimum of five years of shipbuilding and joinery project management work experience, including: A strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC and US Navy vessels. Shipbuilding experience in new construction and/or repair/modernization. Experience with estimating, project management and managing joinery scopes. Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and then actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word. Clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to lead teams effectively in a demanding work environment. Strong customer service skills. Ability to multitask, think critically and solve problems. Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Experience working with union representatives. Ability to travel and relocate for projects. OSHA certification.
