Speech Pathologist

Job Title: Speech Pathologist Location: 3575 Quakerbridge Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619 Compensation $98,500.00 - $114,700.00 per year. Job Overview Provides direct patient care services to individuals exhibiting communication and/or swallowing disorders. Coordinates services with other health professionals. May assist in the training and supervision of students. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology Completion of the national examination if beginning a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) affiliation. NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible. Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible. Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate. Member of ASHA. AHA BLS Provider Certification. Evidence of continuing education is necessary to meet licensing requirements. Thorough knowledge of the theoretical principles and clinical application employed in the diagnosis and management of various communication and swallowing disorders. Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties. Three years of experience as Speech Language Pathologist. Strong feeding experience. Preferred Student clinical experience in pediatrics; rehabilitation experience. Knowledge of normal development. Certifications and Licenses Required NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible. Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible. Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate. Member of ASHA. BLS Provider Certification AHA. Scheduling Requirements Full-Time (40 hours/week). Some After School Hours. Essential Functions Delivers effective therapeutic services that are relevant to population served and remains knowledgeable of current techniques. Communicates Speech-Language evaluations on population served that accurately and efficiently identifies strengths and needs in the area being evaluated. Effectively communicates this information in verbal and written forms. Completes Basic Competencies of the population currently serving as indicated on the Competency criteria for Speech & Hearing Dept., and hospital competencies. Meets productivity demands by seeking out opportunities within the entire dept when cancellations, no shows and low census occur. Effectively shares information regarding therapy/evaluation techniques and/or hospital procedures with students, volunteers, CFY’s and peers. Participates in projects for the department that are consistent with department and hospital goals and missions. Communicates job specific concerns and participates in developing solutions. Provides in-service training to staff and community as requested and completes training commensurate with state license laws. Completes written work in a timely manner relevant to evaluation, therapy and patient coordination and the content of written material meets ASHA specifics.
