Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist

Butterfly Art Collective is an artist-led studio creating sculptural works that unite contemporary design, craftsmanship, and meaningful purpose. Based in Phoenix, our small creative team works collaboratively across art, design, production, storytelling, and community engagement. We’re looking for a Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist who can bring that work to life across our digital channels – from capturing what’s happening in the studio to developing thoughtful campaigns that grow our audience and deepen engagement with our community. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is equally comfortable behind the camera, inside an editing timeline, writing a caption, building a content calendar, analyzing campaign performance, and brainstorming with a creative team. THE ROLE The Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the day‑to‑day planning, creation, execution, and analysis of Butterfly Art Collective’s social media presence and support broader digital marketing initiatives. You’ll help shape how our studio, artists, artwork, process, campaigns, and events are shared with the world. We’re looking for someone who can see both the big picture and the content opportunity happening right in front of them – someone who can build a strategy and then pick up a camera and execute it. Because so much of our story happens inside the studio, this is a highly hands‑on, collaborative position. You’ll regularly work alongside our artists and team to identify stories, capture photo and video content, develop campaigns, and translate the creative process into compelling digital storytelling. WHAT YOU'LL DO Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with studio initiatives, artwork and product releases, campaigns, events, and organizational goals. Build and manage social media content calendars across platforms. Develop campaign concepts and determine how larger stories can unfold across posts, Reels, Stories, email, and other digital touchpoints. Stay current on platform changes, emerging formats, audience behavior, and relevant social trends while maintaining the integrity of our brand and artistic voice. Identify opportunities to grow awareness, engagement, community, and conversion. Content Creation & Production Be “boots on the ground” in the studio, proactively identifying and capturing compelling moments, processes, artwork, events, and behind‑the‑scenes stories. Shoot photo and video content for social media and digital marketing. Edit short‑form video content, including Reels and other social‑first formats. Create and adapt graphics and digital assets using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools. Work collaboratively with artists and creative team members to turn ideas and studio activity into engaging content. Maintain an organized library of social and marketing content. Social Media Management & Community Engagement Manage day‑to‑day posting and scheduling across Butterfly Art Collective’s social channels. Write thoughtful, engaging captions that reflect the Collective’s voice and the story behind the work. Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and conversations and actively engage with our online community. Help cultivate relationships with collectors, arts organizations, partners, community members, and new audiences through authentic digital engagement. Maintain consistency in voice, visual presentation, messaging, and posting cadence. Paid Social & Campaign Management Plan, build, manage, and optimize paid social campaigns, particularly across Meta platforms. Develop audiences, creative variations, campaign objectives, and budgets based on marketing goals. Monitor campaign performance and make ongoing adjustments to improve results. Support paid promotion around artwork and product launches, events, campaigns, and other key initiatives. Analytics & Reporting Track and analyze social media and digital campaign performance. Develop regular reporting that goes beyond surface‑level metrics to identify what is working, what isn’t, and why. Translate analytics into actionable recommendations for future content and campaigns. Monitor audience growth, engagement, reach, traffic, conversions, and paid campaign performance. Use performance insights to continually refine social and digital strategy. Digital Marketing & Copywriting Support broader digital marketing efforts beyond social media. Write and edit marketing emails, campaign messaging, website or landing‑page copy, and other digital communications as needed. Help ensure messaging remains consistent across social, email, web, and other digital channels. Collaborate with the creative team on launch and promotional strategies. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who is creative, resourceful, organized, digitally savvy, and fast on their feet. You should be comfortable working in a small creative environment where priorities can evolve quickly and where great ideas are often developed collaboratively. The Ideal Candidate Has: Approximately 2–5 years of professional experience in social media, digital marketing, content creation, or a related field. Demonstrated experience developing and executing social media strategies—not simply scheduling or posting content. Strong photo and video content creation skills, particularly for social‑first content. Experience editing short‑form video. Strong writing and copyediting skills with the ability to adapt voice and messaging for different formats. Experience managing and optimizing paid social advertising campaigns. Experience with social media analytics, reporting, and translating performance data into recommendations. Experience with social media management and scheduling platforms such as Planable, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Loomly, or similar. Experience with project management tools such as Trello or equivalent. Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager. Strong project and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. A proactive mindset – you notice opportunities, propose ideas, and move projects forward without needing every step prescribed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to collaborate closely with artists, designers, and other creative team members. Nice to Have Experience with email marketing platforms and campaign development. Experience with Google Analytics and/or Google Ads. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva. Photography experience and an understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling. Experience working with an art, design, fashion, cultural, lifestyle, hospitality, or other visually driven brand. Experience supporting launches, events, or integrated digital campaigns. Familiarity with content management systems and basic website updates. An interest in contemporary art, design, and visual culture.
