CDL Truck Driver

Job Summary The Truck Driver (CDL) is responsible for completing local and non-local deliveries of MICA Steelworks materials and products. This position reports to the Plant Manager. Experience High School Diploma or GED Minimum 24 months of commercial driving experience 3 to 5 years of experience delivering manufacturing materials and products preferred Qualifications Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a good driving record Minimum 21 years old No DUI convictions in the last 2 years No more than 1 preventable accident in the last 12 months No more than 3 moving violations in a 3‑year period Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, DOT physical, audiogram, and vision test Responsibilities Loading, driving, and unloading delivery trucks Receiving, shipping, and stocking materials and products Securing cargo for transport Obtaining receipts and signatures for delivered materials and products Completing commercial deliveries – local and overnight Reporting all equipment defects or damage, accidents, and traffic violations Maintaining a driver’s daily log Verifying delivery instructions and routes Complying with all state, federal, and company regulations Performing other duties in the manufacturing plant as assigned by the Plant Manager regarding preparation and distribution of deliveries Competencies Attention to detail Integrity Dependability Safety Working Conditions The position generally involves driving but may also include duties in the manufacturing plant during downtime. Schedule Local deliveries, Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday. Driver will be home daily with occasional overnight trips 1–2 times a month.
