Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction and developmental disabilities.

Position:  Counselor I 

Shift:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (in-office). 

Salary Range: $28.97 - $37.46 (hourly). We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements).

SUMMARY:  The Counselor I, as part of an integrated care team, will provide therapeutic services to adults, children, adolescents and families as assigned by a designated QMHP or Clinical Supervisor. The Counselor I may be assigned to any agency program including, but not limited to: ACT, Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree in social services field or combination of education/experience that qualifies as a QMHA required; History of working cooperatively in a team setting with at least two years relevant work experience preferred. CADC is also required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and communicate in English language, and understand documents, instructions, and procedure manuals, as needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job. Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, finance reports, and legal documents. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to understand personal boundaries and how this impacts treatment.
