Paraeducator

Under the direction and supervision of the site administrator, the Paraeducator provides a variety of support services for teachers and students in special education and general education classroom settings, including, but not limited to: Special Day classes, tutoring, clerical, preparation of materials and record keeping. Needs of some students, including personal hygiene and activities of daily living, may be specific and require additional training. Job duties may be performed in settings outside of the traditional school settings.

Requirements / Qualifications

Paraprofessionals will be required to have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and one of the following in order to meet the minimum qualifications for the Paraprofessional position: Possess an Associate of Arts/Science Degree or Complete 48 semester units of college education or Pass the Paraprofessional Exam. Documents needed: Letter of Application Completed application form Current resume Two letters of recommendation. Upon offer of employment, the following will be required. DOJ/FBI (fingerprints) clearance, drug test, physical and a TB clearance.
