Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 14 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 14 weeks\n Openings: 7\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring Epic charting experience and prior travel assignment history.Details\n \n Acute care hospital setting in the ICU department\n Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)\n Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3\n Floats to Med Surg (1:5) or ER depending on census\n Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period\n No on-call responsibilities\n Guaranteed 36 hours per week\n Uses Epic EMR system\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (Oklahoma or Compact) required at time of consideration\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required\n Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required\n Recent Epic charting experience required within the past year\n Prior successful travel assignment experience required\n Skilled in central line, arterial line, and CVP management\n Basic dysrhythmia training required\n Experience managing multiple drips including cardiac and vasoactive medications\n Skilled in IV therapy, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation\n Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips\n Experience caring for patients with CVA/acute stroke and multisystem organ dysfunction\n One reference required from a Manager or Unit Supervisor within the past year in a relevant specialty\n Additional Information\n \n Level 3 Trauma Center with 171 staffed beds\n Manage complex ICU cases including CRRT, cardiac surgery/CABG, respiratory failure with vent management, DKA, and altered mental status\n Scrub color varies by unit\n Free parking available\n Facility follows a zero-fault attendance policy where missed shifts, regardless of reason, count as unexcused and may result in warnings or cancellation\n Required to complete compliance lab visit within 48-72 hours of signing\n Required to complete pre-start training modules, averaging 3-4 hours, documented via transcripts or completion certificates\n RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days during the 13-week assignment with no holiday time off permitted\n No additional RTO requests accepted after submission or while on contract\n No blocked or special scheduling requests accommodated\n First-time travelers not considered; minimum of one successful travel assignment with no performance or attendance issues required\n Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers\n Previous employment at this facility as a traveler or permanent employee not eligible for consideration\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-735417.
