Bridge Inspector

Job Description What We Are Looking For: We are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and versatile individual to join our engineering staff out of our Metairie, LA office. This role will work closely with our Program Manager, Team Leader, Technicians, Engineers and clients in Louisiana and across the country. This position will involve assisting our teams with in-service bridge inspections. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting group. What You’ll Do: Assist bridge inspection teams with field inspections performed on ground level, hydraulic equipment, ladder access or using rope access techniques Apply National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI) inspection techniques to complete bridge inspections while evaluating a variety of structure types, including girders, culverts, retaining walls, ancillary and highway structures Determine if previous NBIS ratings and element condition states are still applicable for each component based on current findings and new SNBI specifications Perform analysis, design and support services for various bridge types, tunnels, culverts, and other infrastructure improvements Complete a visual/hands‑on inspection of bridge components and document the summary of conditions, findings, and deficiencies for each component (include fracture critical hands‑on inspection assurance, if performed). Include or update any inspection or bridge notes (such as inspection team members, temperature, type of inspection, any element or portion of an element not able to be inspected, summary of element being closely monitored, any vehicle or vessel impact information, any aspect noticed not noted within the element, etc.) Document deficiencies with labeled photographs for report insertion. If required to be posted/restricted, include illustration photographs.
