The IT Business Office provides administration and financial support to ITS staff and management as well as billing customer service and software distribution to the campus community. It consists of several units - Administration, Finance & Business Operations, Human Resources, IT Procurement, and Inventory Management. This position is responsible for complex budgeting, financial and analytical functions, to include the tracking and allocation of complex funding sources and providing crucial resource, operating, and forecasting analyses. Responsible for the annual budgeting process, rate recharge analyses, providing recommendations to leadership for strategic planning of self-supporting activities, and submitting rate recharge proposals to the campus Rate Recharge Review Committee for approval. Must be able to perform special high-level analytical and forecasting projects with minimal oversight with a high degree of creativity and accuracy. Must co-lead and coordinate the annual storeroom inventory. Must be able to think creatively to solve unique and ad-hoc problems with a focus on reviewing and improving process to improve team efficiency. Responsibilities: * Independently responsible for the tracking and allocation of complex funding sources and providing crucial resource, operating, and forecasting analyses. * Responsible for the annual budgeting process. Responsible for rate recharge analyses, providing expert recommendations to leadership for the short and long range strategic planning of self-supporting activities, and submitting rate recharge proposals to the campus Rate Recharge Review Committee for approval. Independently perform special high-level analytical and forecasting projects. * Must be an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work in pressure situations and accommodate interruptions. Ability to maintain flexibility to redirect efforts when priorities change. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Strong ability to maintain status information and reporting to supervisor in a regular manner. Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments. Proven skills and knowledge to perform complex financial modelling, resource planning, and budgetary oversight of a diverse population of resource collection programs. Ability to understand and create resource collection and costing programs and create associated complex analysis and financial models. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of campus recharge and rate policies and ability to review, collect, and compile information necessary to establish and update recharge rates. Working knowledge of UC and UCSD policies and procedures for fund accounting, contract and grant accounting, purchasing, rate recharge, inventory and asset tracking. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends. Employee must be available to travel as required. Employee must attend in person meetings and inventory as required.
