Joining MacKay expands opportunities for our employees through multidisciplinary collaboration, broader technical expertise, and the resources of a larger organization, while preserving the collaborative culture, local leadership, and commitment to practical, client-focused solutions that have always defined Pioneer.We are seeking a **Civil/Environmental Engineer** specializing in environmental remediation and heavy-civil earthwork design to join our team at our **Kellogg, Idaho** office. The position requires experience across multiple phases of environmental and civil engineering consulting, including preparing technical plans and specifications, managing client and design teams, preparing bidding documents, and overseeing field inspections. The engineer will be required to travel for 10-30% of their time.Sign-On bonuses available for well-qualified candidates.Key Responsibilities:* Independently perform environmental and civil engineering tasks, including remedial designs for projects within the Silver Valley of Idaho and Western Montana. These designs include conducting alternatives analyses, preparing sampling plans, preparing construction drawings and specifications, preparing bidding documents, and managing construction projects.* Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines within MacKay, including structural, geotechnical, and water resources engineers.* Conduct technical review and project management for engineering deliverables, schedule, and invoicing.* Manage and mentor junior engineering staff.* Prepare and review technical reports.* Develop scopes of work and budget estimates for conducting engineering projects.* Manage junior staff performing construction observation.* Assist with business development and proposal writing efforts, when warranted.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline* Montana or Idaho P.E. license* 5-10 years of experience in Federal and State environmental regulations or related design experience in heavy civil or earth-moving projects.* Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and cross-functionally* Ability to collaboratively solve complex technical problems* Experience with proposal development, cost estimating, and determining specifications.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.#### Why Join Pioneer Technical Services – A Part of MacKay?Pioneer Technical Services is now part of MacKay, a growing national infrastructure and environmental services firm with more than 50 years of experience serving clients across the United States.While our name will transition to MacKay in January 2027, our people, leadership, and commitment to delivering innovative, practical solutions remain the same. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.*US Pay Range$35—$50 USDFull-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company’s 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.Employment requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
