Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in Cardiac PCU will provide care for patients requiring cardiac and vascular monitoring and intervention. The role requires proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms, administering cardiac drip medications, and effectively managing patients transitioning from ICU care.

Responsibilities:

• Care for cardiovascular patients and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Administer cardiac drip medications such as nitro, heparin, Amiodarone, and others

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac or PCU experience

Unit Description
General Information
Beds: 39 - MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU - mixed unit
Minimal Experience:
2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel, please have CRT send to management team for approval
Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment
Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma - heavy trauma population
Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR - 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this - given to permanent staff
