In this role, you will work closely with servers, bartenders, and culinary team members to ensure the dining room operates efficiently and seamlessly. Your attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to service excellence will contribute directly to the elevated guest experience that defines MacArthur Place.

Position Summary

The Server Assistant / Busser plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment. This position supports front-of-house operations by clearing and resetting tables, assisting with food and beverage delivery, maintaining service stations, and ensuring guests receive attentive and timely service.

As a representative of the MacArthur Place brand, the Server Assistant / Busser is expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and luxury service.

Essential Responsibilities

Guest Service & Dining Room Support

· Clear and reset tables efficiently between courses and after guests depart.

· Ensure proper placement of table settings, silverware, glassware, napkins, condiments, and centerpieces.

· Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to guests as needed.

· Refill water glasses and support attentive guest service throughout the dining experience.

· Anticipate guest needs and respond courteously and professionally to requests.

Restaurant Operations

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, service stations, patios, and high-traffic guest areas.

· Polish and restock silverware, glassware, plates, and service supplies.

· Complete opening duties, including setting up service stations and preparing dining areas for service.

· Complete closing duties, including cleaning service areas, storing supplies, and assisting with inventory or event breakdown.

· Support special events, banquets, and room service operations as needed.

Safety & Compliance

· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures.

· Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

· Monitor dining areas for potential safety hazards such as spills, hot plates, and obstacles, taking prompt corrective action when necessary.

· Adhere to company policies regarding attendance, timekeeping, meal periods, and rest breaks.

Team Collaboration

· Work closely with servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.

· Support team members during peak dining periods and high-volume service.

· Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to established grooming and uniform standards.

· Uphold MacArthur Place's luxury service standards and commitment to hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous restaurant, hospitality, or food service experience preferred; training provided.

· Food Handler and Alcohol Service Certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Fast-paced, high-energy luxury hotel restaurant environment.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

· Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

· Ability to safely carry and balance multiple dishes, trays, and service items.

· Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.

· Ability to maintain focus, energy, and professionalism during busy service periods.

Additional Duties

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management to support restaurant, hotel, winery, and event operations. Flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to assist wherever needed are key to success in this role.
