Below are details on an open job. Hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne generally falls between $29.45 - $39.85 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. The position is a 2nd shift Production Foreman located in Independence, OR. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and supervise work activities of five or more personnel, including temporary agency workers, engaged in production, equipment repair, warehouse work and truck loading. Implement and monitor management programs related to safety, employee relations, production efficiencies, and inventory control. Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise job results, coach, counsel, and recommend discipline when necessary. Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, studying methods, and implementing cost reductions. Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures; foster cooperation within and between departments. Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries. Ensure equipment operation by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending personal networking and benchmarking state‑of‑the‑art practices. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Experience supervising and coaching teams. Experience managing processes and process improvement. Ability to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained. Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Spanish fluency is a plus.
