About the Position

Job Title: RN - OR Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum of 1 year current hospital acute care experience. Description: Travel position for an RN specializing in the Operating Room. The unit has 14 operating rooms including one hybrid cardiovascular room and one cystoscopy room, with 408 beds in the facility. Staff includes approximately 60 FTEs. During the day shift, there are 14-16 RNs and 14-16 surgical techs, along with clinical charge nurses. Night shift includes a clinical charge nurse and staff RNs and surgical techs. Patient-to-staff ratio is 1:1. Standard operating room equipment is utilized, along with Stryker video systems. Electronic medical record system is Meditech. Typical procedures in this unit include angioplasty, appendectomy, biopsy, and orthopedic/spine surgeries. Transplant procedures are not performed. Ideal candidates will prioritize patient experience and exhibit good communication with staff and providers. Adaptability to change is important. On-call requirements are from 5 PM to 7 PM one day a week and weekend on-call is required once every six weeks.
