Associate Product Owner-Data Strategy and Governance

An apprenticeship under the direction of the Product Owner, serving as a member of the Agile squad/team. I represent the voice of the customer and the organization in executing the product vision, working closely with stakeholders to maximize development value by defining, prioritizing, and aligning features and stories with organizational goals. I help research and enforce external constraints such as regulatory and compliance approvals, and may perform Product Owner duties like reviewing and writing low‑risk user stories and participating in backlog prioritization. Responsibilities Support product vision communication and alignment with guidance from the Product Owner. Contribute to product vision definition and use product‑level KPIs to drive decisions. Maintain the backlog, including prioritization and acceptance criteria. Assist in squad/team quarterly planning and set delivery expectations for new capabilities and features. Participate in demos, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies. Work daily with the Agile group to clarify requirements, remove roadblocks, and maintain product strategy alignment. Monitor product health and support long‑term viability and efficiency with Product Owner guidance. Analyze feasibility, cost of delay, economies, and other aspects of planned or potential product changes. Conduct research into regulatory and compliance constraints, negotiating with squads/teams to align priorities during a sprint. Help build the product roadmap at the squad/team level based on strategy and stakeholder input. Qualifications Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management, typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.). 3 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting with at least 1 year of direct experience on agile teams. Ability to develop strong working relationships, influence others, and build consensus with cogent arguments. Proficiency in communicating moderate to complex ideas, issues, and designs. Capability to operate with incomplete information and make timely decisions. Problem‑solving skills and an experimental mindset with willingness to learn and experiment.
