X-Ray Tech/Diagnostic Specialist I (Non-Union) - Orthopedics

Diagnostic Specialist I performs radiologic procedures, assists in coordinating patient flow in and out of the x‑ray area, ensures supplies are available, is responsible for daily maintenance of equipment and organization of x‑ray films, and utilizes the PACS system to register studies and patients so billing can be performed. Responsibilities Performs diagnostic radiologic services by operating imaging equipment, positioning and immobilizing patients, calculating exposure factors, practicing radiation protection, evaluating radiographs for technical quality, and assisting physicians with imaging procedures. Maintains patient x‑ray imaging and copies as requested. Performs clerical duties related to administrative activities of the clinical x‑ray area. Assumes full responsibility for the assigned area. Assumes responsibility for the x‑ray portion of quality assurance, complies with all federal and state regulations, and maintains daily equipment maintenance records. May assist in scheduling vacation time and covering the area so clinical activity is not compromised. Pursues ongoing continuing education opportunities. Other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an AMA‑approved radiography program. Minimum 1 year of experience taking radiographs is preferred. NYS Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license. Compensation The salary range for this role is $44.0968 to $52.2568 per hour, in compliance with New York City Law on Salary Transparency. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, education, and operational need.
