Job Details Specialty: Physical Therapist Discipline: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 per week (8‑hour shifts, days) Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in Connecticut Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy Experience in a hospital or community setting (new graduates welcome) Additional certifications or licenses as applicable Summary Physical Therapists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. They create evidence‑based rehabilitation plans and provide hands‑on treatment using various modalities. Essential Work Functions Assess patients’ physical conditions through standardized tests and clinical examinations. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement treatment plans using exercises and manual therapy. Operate specialized equipment safely and maintain detailed documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, biomechanics, and injury prevention. Maintain a safe treatment environment and comply with infection control protocols. Participate in quality assurance and professional development activities. Assist with discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, excellent service and interpersonal communication skills. Strong written and verbal English proficiency. Basic PC skills. Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: effective teamwork with diverse personnel. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation and movement during procedures. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines, work with or without supervision.
