Temporary Full-time Medical Assistant

This recruitment is for a Temporary Full-time Medical Assistant (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm) position based out of our Laguna Hills Multispeciality location.

Your Role on the Team

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Room patients
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient education
• Perform clerical and administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating clinic workflows
• Support clinic operations by maintaining supplies, ensuring compliance with dress code and safety standards, and assisting with UC Learning and departmental requirements

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

• Medical Assistant Diploma, Certificate of Competency, or equivalent
• Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office certification
• Understanding of medical terminology and ability to perform essential clinical and administrative duties
• Current BLS certification from the AHA upon hire
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting
• Phlebotomy certification and experience performing specimen collection
• Experience using EPIC and scheduling systems in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of university or academic medical center policies, procedures, and workflows, with flexibility to work occasional weekends or holidays

Pay Rate: $26.71/hour
