Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical unit to provide comprehensive post-surgical care to adult patients, including those with abdominal pain, bariatric conditions, fractures, and other diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of MS experience, current licenses, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult post-surgical patients using specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
  
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and clinical interventions in the EMR system, specifically Epic.
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  
• Monitor patient progress, respond to emergent situations, and adjust care plans accordingly.
  
• Adhere to facility policies, including scrub color and floating requirements, ensuring seamless unit operations.
  
• Verify licenses, credentials, and travel experience documentation prior to submission.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active New York RN license and all required certifications, including BLS through AHA.
  
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
  
• Hold a valid driver's license with an address matching demographic requirements.
  
• Skilled in using Epic EMR system and managing specialty equipment.
  
• Ability to work flexible hours including 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM shifts and float as needed.
