State Eligibility Consultant
DGS Office of External Affairs
The State Eligibility Consultant processes and reviews applications, changes, and redeterminations for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF benefits within the Division of Family Resources. The role ensures accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations, conducts eligibility interviews, and provides feedback to improve the review process. This position is located in Columbus, Indiana and supports the state's mission to help families achieve self-sufficiency. Key qualifications: Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations related to public assistance programs Working knowledge of computerized eligibility systems Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people from varied backgrounds Demonstrates effective interview and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr DGS Office of External Affairs
