Bookkeeper

Title: Bookkeeper Department: Trust Accounting Union: UFCW 555 Grade: 3 Position Summary The Bookkeeper provides financial accounting for assigned Client(s) and Trust Fund(s) in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and plan guidelines. "Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role." Key Duties and Responsibilities Balancing FICA, federal withholding, and payroll taxes; makes appropriate deposits. Reconciling checking, savings, and investments accounts. Posting journal entries to general ledger. Preparing and distributing Trust financial statements and statistics. Assisting in the preparation of 941 and 945 forms. Ensuring accounting files are current and in good order. Reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy and reasonableness. Making daily/weekly money transfers as needed. Preparing and sending disbursement letters. May also perform accounts payable function. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Two years of experience in an accounting role. Knowledge of common accounting principles and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills. Ability to read and understand financial statements. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools and applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a third-party administrator.
