Chief of Staff

Androscoggin Bank, a local community leader and certified B-Corp is looking to hire a Chief of Staff that will serve as a strategic coordinator, trusted proxy, and accountability partner to the CEO, COO, and leadership team. In this capacity, the Chief of Staff is expected to operate with the authority and judgment necessary to help carry out the organization’s annually defined strategic priorities, ensuring that executive direction is translated into clear action, appropriate follow-through, and coordinated execution across business lines. This role is designed to strengthen organizational execution by converting strategic priorities into clear operating plans, ensuring disciplined follow-through, and improving the flow of information, decisions, and communication throughout the organization. The Chief of Staff will play a central role in supporting the organization’s communication cadence, enterprise reporting, integration workstreams, and execution of key cross functional initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Support the CEO, COO, and senior leadership team by helping prepare for key meetings, leadership forums, Board discussions, and enterprise-wide communications.
• Develop clear agendas, presentations, talking points, follow-up summaries, and communication materials that support alignment, decision-making, and accountability.
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear owners, milestones, timelines, dependencies, and measures of success.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and integration workstreams to ensure progress, reduce duplication, identify risks, and support timely execution.
• Compile business line updates and performance information into concise, executive-ready reports, dashboards, scorecards, and progress summaries.
• Partner with leaders across the organization to identify trends, surface barriers, escalate issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Maintain follow-up discipline by documenting decisions, tracking commitments, and ensuring accountability across leadership meetings and strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, leverage AI-enabled tools and automation, and support more efficient workflows and data-driven decision-making.
• Conduct research, market analysis, due diligence, and feasibility assessments to support new business ideas, organizational changes, and enterprise-level decisions.
• Prepare briefing materials, business cases, recommendations, and implementation plans that turn complex information into practical next steps.
• Provide high-level executive support on sensitive assignments, special projects, and cross-functional priorities with discretion, urgency, and professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent executive, operational, project management, banking, or financial services experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, leading cross-functional initiatives, managing complex projects, or operating in a strategy, operations, integration, or enterprise planning role.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex information and convert it into clear executive level written materials, meeting content, and actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for Board, executive, leadership, officer, employee, and cross-functional audiences.
• High degree of organizational discipline, follow-through, discretion, sound judgment, and comfort operating in environments with ambiguity, urgency, and multiple competing priorities.
• Familiarity with EOS Traction, strategic planning practices, performance scorecards, project management disciplines, or integration management is strongly preferred.

This position has an intended hiring range of $120,000-$150,000 a year depending on skills, experience, and other qualifications.
