Facility Support Technician

Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Facility Support Technician to support the Administrative Office of the United States Courts in Washington, D.C. We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a willingness to jump in where needed. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform inspection measures and provide repair recommendations on furniture/building and safety equipment
• Perform daily walk-throughs, inventories, and assessments of the building to determine equipment, facility, or service deficiencies; missing or damaged equipment office items and furniture, tenant violations of the AO Manual; conduct follow-up assessments to determine if submitted work orders were completed and tenant violations were remedied.
• Make note of observations, ad-hoc work performed/corrective actions taken, and interactions with or comments from building occupants.
• Provide a Daily Assessment Report to the COR utilizing AO-approved formats.
• Perform a daily visual inventory inspection. The inspection shall include a full physical walkthrough of all AO spaces; identify, count, and document all furniture assets; capture required data fields including asset type, location, condition, and serial/tag numbers; apply AO-approved asset tags where missing and scan all existing and newly applied tags; enter all inventory data into AO-approved templates.
• Perform relief communication center support; answer routine questions and direct callers to appropriate staff; monitor, receive, prioritize, and route building service requests submitted via the ADM mailbox or telephone; perform quality assurance checks on service requests; serve as a central point of contact for security and building emergency personnel.
• Provide support for 3rd party vending machines, contract maintenance, and suppliers; escort vendors and service/supply providers, act as liaison between building occupants and vendors to process requests for service of 3rd party vending machines.
• Perform transportation services; delivery of packages and mail between the TMFJB and other Government buildings in the Washington Capital District; drive authorized personnel between the TMFJB and other Government buildings in the Washington Capital District.
• Perform operational checks (expiration dates, pressure gauges, locks, safety pins, etc.) on fire extinguishers, defibrillators, eyewash stations and other safety equipment. Inform the COR when safety equipment comes up on 60 days of replacement/expiration.
• Follow up on submitted work orders and provide quality assurance to the COR of completed emergency and urgent service calls.
• Attend internal AO meetings as directed to provide feedback, analysis, metrics and ad hoc reports based on the deliverables and quality control inspections.
• Assist as required in setting up for special events, distinguished visitors, programs and activities to include preparation of the orderly appearance of entrances, hallways, and event site.
• Provide a daily work schedule, which will include a 24 hour look ahead. Daily work schedule shall include title and description of work being done, location of work, and best estimate time to complete the work. The 24-hour look ahead shall include a list of upcoming work intended to be complete within a 24-hour period.
• Provide a monthly status report to the COR covering the full month, delivered by the close of business of the 3rd working day of the following month to include the status of all furniture/equipment replacements, completed/pending work orders, 3rd party vendor issues completed/unresolved.
• Ensure reports, records, checklists, operational logs and other administrative reporting tools are completely filled out. Observations should be brought to the attention of the COR for proper recourse and follow-up actions.
• Provide a quality assurance and control plan along with projected surveillance measures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Security Requirements:

• Must be able to maintain government issued badge.
• Must have a driving record showing no more than two moving violations within a given year for the last 5 years.

This position requires passing an extensive background check.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with the use of proper equipment
• Perform frequent walking and standing throughout the workday while conducting comprehensive facility inspections and inventories.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and move around furniture and equipment to conduct inspections and obtain required information.
• Safely enter and exit vehicles and operate a government or authorized vehicle in support of transportation and delivery activities.
• Travel between assigned government buildings as required to transport authorized personnel, packages, mail, supplies, or equipment.
• Remain calm, professional, and effective when responding to urgent requests, emergency situations, or competing priorities.
• Ability to read printed materials and a computer screen
• Able to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three (3) years of facility operations-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
• Experience identifying and documenting damaged, missing, defective, or improperly maintained furniture, equipment, building components, and safety equipment.
• Experience maintaining accurate records, inspection logs, inventories, work orders, checklists, and reports.
• Valid Real-ID state-issued driver's license allowing for the operation of a sedan, SUV, or passenger van
• Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
• Excellent and accurate written communication
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
• Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
• Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
• Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality

Pay Range: $24.56 + $5.09 in H&W.
