Equal Employment Specialist

Duties
Serves as Equal Employment Specialist performing activity EEO program development, administrative, evaluative, and advisory functions.
Provides guidance and direction regarding the activity Affirmative Employment Program (MD-715), Special Emphasis Programs, and EEO Out-reach Programs.
Incumbents assignments concern analysis of a broad range of policies and systemic practices which include fundamental activities such as recruitment.
Identifies underlying causes of equal employment opportunity problems as well as systemic barriers to equal opportunity, such as policies or widespread practices.
Assists the Equal Employment Manager (EEM) in establishing, coordinating, and developing local methods and procedures as directed by higher level authority.
Serves as an EEO Counselor handling the most complex EEO cases to include class action complaints.
Processes federal EEO complaints through the full life cycle, from pre-complaint counseling through final agency action and case closure, ensuring compliance with EEOC MD-110, applicable statutes and agency policy.
Responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, reviewing, monitoring, evaluating and updating assigned program activities.
