Homewatch Caregivers is seeking an experienced, compassionate, people-focused Caregiver Supervisor to lead and support our caregiver workforce across the St. Cloud, Minneapolis, and St. Paul metro areas.

This position plays a key role in fostering caregiver engagement, performance, and retention by providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to Caregivers and Lead Caregivers throughout our organization. Serving as the primary connection between field staff and office leadership, this position helps ensure caregivers have the guidance, communication, recognition, resources, and accountability they need to succeed in providing exceptional care.

Working closely with Human Resources, clinical leadership, scheduling, and operations, the Caregiver Supervisor builds strong relationships with Caregivers through regular communication, field visits, coaching, problem-solving, and performance support while promoting a positive employee experience and maintaining high standards of client care.

• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and day-to-day support to Lead Caregivers and Caregivers across the organization.

• Serve as the primary non-clinical supervisor and point of contact for Lead Caregivers and Caregivers regarding workplace concerns, coaching, performance expectations, and day-to-day support.

• Establish clear expectations for professionalism, attendance, communication, documentation, client service, and adherence to company policies.

• Build trusting relationships with field staff through regular check-ins, timely follow-up, recognition, and visible support.

• Coach and develop Lead Caregivers so they can serve as effective resources, mentors, and role models for Caregivers.

• Recognize and celebrate caregiver achievements through ongoing appreciation, positive feedback, and engagement initiatives that promote retention.

• Conduct scheduled and as-needed field visits to observe caregiver performance, reinforce expectations, answer questions, and provide coaching or recognition.

• Support caregiver orientation, initial client placement, early-tenure check-ins, ongoing education, and annual performance reviews.

• Monitor and address caregiver attendance, punctuality, reliability, documentation, electronic visit verification, and compliance with agency expectations, escalating concerns and providing coaching as appropriate.

• Identify performance concerns and collaborate with Human Resources to implement coaching, performance improvement plans, corrective action, and recognition when appropriate.

• Document supervisory contacts, observations, coaching conversations, follow-up actions, and employee performance information accurately and promptly.

• Respond to caregiver questions, concerns, and workplace challenges with professionalism, empathy, consistency, and appropriate urgency.

• Review and manage employee time-off requests, including PTO and ESST, in collaboration with Scheduling, balancing employee needs with client coverage, operational requirements, and state law.

• Promote employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and a culture in which caregivers feel respected, supported, and heard.

• Communicate agency updates, policy changes, operational expectations, and other important information to caregivers in a clear, timely, and consistent manner.

• Help investigate and resolve caregiver, client, or family concerns in collaboration with Human Resources, Nursing leadership, and Operations.

• Collaborate with Human Resources on onboarding, employee relations, retention strategies, and workforce planning.

• Partner with Nursing leadership to reinforce care-plan expectations, client-specific requirements, safe care practices, and appropriate caregiver scope of responsibility.

• Promptly escalate clinical concerns, changes in client condition, safety issues, incidents, or potential scope-of-practice questions to the appropriate clinical leader.

• Work with the Scheduler to identify caregiver availability, client compatibility, performance considerations, and potential staffing risks.

• Identify training needs and coordinate appropriate education, coaching, or competency support with clinical and operational leaders.

• Identify trends affecting caregiver satisfaction, attendance, retention, and performance, and recommend practical process improvements.

• Maintain confidentiality of all clients, employees, and company information in accordance with HIPAA, privacy requirements, and company policies.

• Travel locally to meet with caregivers and observe services in the field; approved business mileage is reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

• Perform other supervisory and operational duties as assigned.

• Previous experience supervising, leading, coaching, or developing frontline employees.

• Experience in home care, home health, senior services, healthcare, human services, or another people-focused service environment.

• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and hold employees accountable while fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a genuine commitment to supporting and developing caregivers.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively, provide constructive feedback, and navigate difficult or sensitive conversations with professionalism.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, adapt to changing priorities, and remain calm and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.

• Proficiency with computers, email, electronic records, and standard office applications.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee, client, and organizational information.

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet applicable vehicle insurance requirements.

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout assigned Minnesota service areas for caregiver meetings and field visits.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Two or more years of supervisory, team-lead, or people-management experience.

• Previous professional caregiving or direct-care experience.

• Experience supervising a geographically distributed or mobile workforce.

• Experience with caregiver onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and retention.

• Familiarity with electronic visit verification, caregiver scheduling, learning-management, or workforce-management platforms.

• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, human services, business, organizational leadership, or a related field.

This position works in an office and field-based environment and requires regular use of a computer and telephone. Local travel to client homes and other field locations is required. The employee must be able to move safely through a variety of home environments while conducting supervisory visits.
