REMOTE Jr. Security Engineer

Job Description Client is seeking a US-based, junior-level security engineer with a generalist skill set in application and cloud security, strong coding abilities (especially Python), and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. Skills and Requirements Generalist Focus: Security generalist with experience in application and cloud infrastructure security (not traditional IT security). Experience: Preferably 2–5 years at a SaaS product company, with hands‑on engineering or security background. Example: Someone who has been “hands on keyboard” and can troubleshoot technical issues independently. Technical Skills: Coding: Strong Python skills required; TypeScript/JavaScript familiarity is a plus. Cloud: AWS experience preferred, but Azure or GCP acceptable if fundamentals are strong. Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Terraform or similar tools. Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts in the context of cloud security. Security Standards: Awareness of CVE system, OWASP Top 10, and AI security risks. Learning Mindset: Willingness to learn new tools and concepts, use AI assistants, and adapt quickly. Ideal: Junior engineer with 3 years’ experience at a SaaS company, strong Python skills, AWS/Terraform familiarity, and a track record of taking ownership of security issues.
